BIO

Tarik Alexander is an actor, writer, singer and producer. He’s the first Jamaican to achieve his Masters of Fine Arts in Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California in 2019, where he was trained in both theatre and film. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Tarik’s passion for the arts was nurtured in various performing arts groups and choirs at his church and school. He began making short films during his bachelor’s degree at Northern Caribbean University. These won awards at the Lignum Vitae Film Festival, which gave him the push to pursue a career in the film industry. His thesis film, “Aftermath”, which he wrote, executive produced and starred in, played in six US film festivals in 2021, most notably the Oscar-qualifying BronzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. His latest film, “Time Heals: A Jamaican Christmas Story”, gained wonderful engagement on social media as it explored relatable themes of family, humiliation and ultimately forgiveness. Tarik is determined to help others know that their dreams are attainable, regardless of their nationality.
