Marlon Walker aka ‘Rome’ – a moniker that stuck after his high school classmates discovered his penchant for literature and in particular, the Shakespeare classic Romeo & Juliet – is a Jamaican-born theatre and film actor who has steadily worked on the local scene for the last 10 years.
A Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Awardee, Rome's debut film appearance is in the hidden gem Missing Pieces where he plays the villainous Victor. He later starred in such Kevin Jackson-directed works as Gone, Friends til the End, the Closet (co-produced) and the multi-award-winning short, Heart Shaped Box.
Twenty seventeen has been an exceptionally active year for Rome with his career taking an upturn since he features as lead in several projects such as: How to Kill a Fish, Learning to Swim by Krystal Dawkins (to be premiered in California) and Mango Wars wherein he plays "Burton Brown".
Film projects aside, Rome also finds time to channel his thespian origins and has been involved with theatre productions such as Mobile Phone, Man Talk and most recently Heist, which closed July 2017.
To prepare for his roles, Rome connects with the story of the character, believing each has his own voice, viewpoint and emotional journey. When he’s not on stage or before the lens, Rome enjoys time at home gaming and playing with his cats - Summa & Spryng.
